Veteran Malayalam actress Sheela, who is celebrating her 87th birthday, has revealed her final wish—to be cremated instead of buried, despite being a Christian.

“Christians are usually buried after death, but I do not wish for that”
In an interview with Asianet News, Sheela shared that she had written her will at the age of 25, clearly stating her desire. “Christians are usually buried after death, but I do not wish for that. I want to be cremated, and my ashes should be immersed in the Bharathapuzha River,” she said.
The actress who currently resides in Chennai, said during the interview, "I had already written my will when I was 25. It clearly states what should be done after my death. I have written that I must be cremated." Sheela revealed while discussing her will.
Reflecting on her cinematic journey, Sheela stated that she has explored every aspect of filmmaking—be it acting, writing scripts, directing, or even producing films. On her birthday, she urged Malayalis never to forget her.
