Tovino to do a rustic lad act again
Pulling off a village boy look is a cakewalk for Tovino Thomas, as he has proven time and again in his films like Ennu Ninte Moideen and Godha.
The actor, who has debuted in Kollywood as well, is gearing up to be a ‘village boy with family values’ in his next Malayalam movie, directed by Jeo Baby. The film is scripted by the director himself, alongside Deepu Pramod.
Jeo says, “This is a travel movie which also has a generous dose of romance and comedy.

It will have a pan Indian story, for which we will shoot across the country. We will start shoot in December.” Tovino’s character, he says, is named Blessy in the film. “Blessy hails from a village, and is quite attached to his family. As of now, Blessy’s is the only character for which we have finalised an actor,” Jeo reveals. The director has previously worked with Tovino in Randu Penkuttikal, and has also helmed the project Kunju Daivam, which won Adish Praveen the National Award this year for the Best Child Artiste.
The film’s leading lady will be from abroad and currently, the team is conducting auditions for the role. “The character is that of an American girl who comes to visit India. We are hoping to finalise an artiste for the part by the end of September,” Jeo says.
