“Our grandparents have been shifted from our ancestral home at Chingathara as our two-storied home is inundated. The people of Nilambur have faced irreparable loss,” says actor Shebin Benson, who along with his brother Nebish have been coordinating relief activities from Kochi and Bengaluru, respectively.
Shebin tells us, “We are working focusing on the eight relief camps in Nilambur.

Our friends are actively collecting the materials we are sending from Kochi and Bengaluru. They inform us the essential requirements and we go to different collection centres here, gather the materials and send it via trucks.”
The effect of this year’s rains have been massive in Nilambur. “A bridge connecting Chungathara and the nearby areas have been completely destroyed. We are going to face a lot of practical difficulties when the rain subsides,” he says.
