Vivek Aryan speaks to Kochi Times about his first directorial venture, Ormayil Oru Shishiram, which is a sweet romance, amid fun and friendship
Ormayil Oru Shishiram (OOS), your first directorial venture, is set to release. Your name is associated with Dhrishyam and director Jithu Joseph. Tell us about your experience.Ormayil Oru Shishiram from Maqtro Pictures is my first feature film.
I want to thank director Jithu Joseph sir, who has groomed me to take up the mantle of a director by allowing me to work for his movie Dhrishyam. OOS talks about first love and how everything is manipulated by the unseen hands of destiny. My attempt has been to present audiences with a movie that invokes the power of pure first love and the nostalgia associated with that feeling. I believe that I could do justice to the wonderful story by Vishnu Raj N R and screenplay by C G Sivaprasad and Appu Sreenivas Nair.
What were the aspects that you enjoyed the most during the shooting and post-production?It is an unusually beautiful story by Vishnu Raj and demands a lot of commitment and team work. The movie is narrated by Nithin, a debut director like me. It takes us through his first love, amid a lot of fun, mirth and friendships. Nature and its forces make a strong presence in this movie that will make you fall in love with each frame. My lead characters played by
Deepak Parambol and Anaswara Ponnambath have done complete justice to the movie. There is a huge cast in the movie, including Alencier, Asokan, Parvathy, Neena Kurup, Eldho, Sam, James, Sudheer Karamana, Sreejith Ravi and many others who have made it an immensely enjoyable project. OOS’s songs have already made its mark on social media charts and are done by Renjin Raj, art direction is by Ajay Mangad and Arun James is behind the camera.
