Mohanlal on bond with Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan: No competition, only appreciation

Mohanlal has dismissed any notions of rivalry with superstars Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, emphasizing the camaraderie and mutual admiration they share. The Malayalam icon, whose upcoming film ‘L2: Empuraan’ is one of the most anticipated releases, revealed that both Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan personally appreciated the film’s trailer.

Speaking about their reactions, Mohanlal shared with News 18 that he had sent ‘L2: Empuraan’s trailer to Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth.
“Rajni sir called me”
The ‘Empuraan’ actor said that Rajinikanth was quite excited after watching the trailer. Lalettan said, “Rajini sir called me and I had a chat with him. He told me, ‘What have you done? Oh my god!’ They genuinely appreciated our trailer. It didn’t come from a place of competition but appreciation.” He added that Rajinikanth, being a producer himself, was particularly impressed by the scale of the film, remarking, “You all have spent so much on the film, and I can see that.”
Mohanlal also spoke about the sense of brotherhood among stars, stating that while the industry may be viewed as competitive, the reality is far different. He referred to Mammootty as his “brother” and “family,” reinforcing the idea that genuine support exists among actors.
Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinkanth’s reaction

Amitabh Bachchan Tweeted the trailer of the Mohanlal starrer and penned a note that read, “T 5323(i) - My best wishes.” Meanwhile, the ‘Jailer’ actor shared the trailer via his Twitter handle and penned a note that read, “Watched the trailer of my dear Mohan’s @Mohanlal and @PrithviOfficial Prithvi ‘s film #Empuraan .. fantastic work , congratulations !!! I wish the team all the best for the release. God bless.”
Rajinikanth’s early reaction
Interestingly Rajinikanth was one among the first celebs to watch the trailer for ‘Empuraan’. Prithviraj earlier shared a snap with Thalaivar and wrote, “The very first person to watch the trailer of #L2E #EMPURAAN I will forever cherish what you said after watching it Sir! This meant the world to me! Fanboy forever! @rajinikanth #OGSuperstar.”
