Miya seems to be making steady inroads into Tamil film industry with projects that offer her roles with ample scope to perform. Her next in Kollywood is titled Vetrivel and is directed by Vasanthamani. Interestingly, she plays a Malayali girl in the film.
Miya says, 'I play a girl from Kochi in the movie, who works in Chennai. She is someone who has only a smattering of Tamil.' The actress is also part of the Tamil films Rum and Yeman, currently.
The movie's director Vasanthamani says, 'In the film, Miya's character is named Janani and she hails from a traditional family. However, she is a bold person. She is also the love interest of the movie's lead character Vetrivel, played by Sasikumar.'
The shoot of the movie, which he terms a family-oriented comedy, has just wrapped up. Vetrivel also has Prabhu, Ilavarasu, Thambi Ramaiah, Renuka and Viji in prominent characters.
