Manoj K Jayan remembers Kalpana on her 6th death anniversary, says her position in the Malayalam cinema is still irreplaceable

6 years back, on this same day, the Malayalam film industry witnessed the loss of one of the legendary actresses, Kalpana. Ranging from comedy roles to serious roles, Kalpana has paved a way for those young actors on how to breathe life into characters and emotionally uplift the viewers. Recently, actor Manoj K Jayan took to his official Instagram handle to pen an emotional note remembering the actress Kalpana on her death anniversary.

Sharing a picture of the actress Kalpana, Manoj K Jayan wrote that her position in the Malayalam film industry is still irreplaceable and she was one of the actresses who had her own stand in any matters which was always just. He also added that she considered him as a brother till her death. Manoj K Jayan’s Instagram post was flooded with comments from fans and celebrities who were all grieving the loss of one of the legends in the Malayalam film industry.

Earlier, actress Kalpana has also mentioned in a Television channel program that she considers Manoj K Jayan as her brother. And during the day of the demise of Kalpana, Manoj K Jayan said that her death was a great loss to him and his daughter Kunjatta.

Kalpana made her acting debut as a child artist in the film ‘Vidarunna Mottukal’ which was released in the year 1977 and was directed by P. Subramaniam. Later on, she has appeared in major roles in over 300 films in various south Indian languages. Her last Malayalam movie was the Dulquer Salmaan starrer ‘Charlie’, in which she appeared in the role of Mariya / Queen Mary.
