Malayalam cinema at the National Awards

Malayalam cinema did not repeat its spectacular performance like last year at the 62nd National Awards but has reasons to cheer. While the award for Best Malayalam Film went to Sidharth Siva's Ain, which revolves around certain incidents in the life of a Muslim youth, the lead actor of the film, Mustafa, received special mention. The award for Best Music Direction Background Score went to Abrid Shine's 1983. Jayaraj's Ottal won the award for Best Film on Environment Conservation.
