‘Thudarum’, starring Malayalam cinema’s beloved icon Mohanlal, has roared into theatres with massive success — and even the Kerala Police couldn’t resist joining in on the celebration, adding their unique spin to the hype.

“Let the journeys continue after wearing a helmet”
As fans took over social media, celebrating Mohanlal’s stellar performance and the film’s rousing reception, the Kerala Police cleverly tapped into the frenzy to spread a crucial safety message. Taking a poster from the film featuring Mohanlal riding a motorcycle, the department shared a modified version on their official Facebook page with the caption: “Let the journeys continue after wearing a helmet. Two-wheeler riders must always wear a helmet."

Netizens react
Netizens shared funny reactions to the post. One comment read, “Given them a fine sir. Still… the movie is fire, you know… unstoppable! “ Another comment read, “Wearing a helmet makes my head itch — what to do!” A third comment read, “Your Head is your property, Care for it or you lose everything.” Another comment read, “Don’t read comments while driving. Let the journeys continue.”

Impressive response for the Mohanlal starrer
Directed by Tharun Moorthy, Thudarum hit the big screens on April 25, 2025, and was met with an exceptional Day 1 box office collection of ₹5.25 crore (India net), according to early estimates by the Sacnilk website.
The Malayalam version saw an impressive 62.27% occupancy on its opening day, with night shows hitting a staggering 84%. In cities like Kochi and Kozhikode, the film witnessed near-housefull attendance, with Kochi recording an eye-popping 99% occupancy during night screenings.
‘Thudarum’ marks the comeback of Mohanlal after a series of underwhelming movies. Although his recently released ‘Empuraan’ raked in huge numbers at the box office, the responses towards Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial were quite mixed. 'Empuraan' was the third directorial venture of Prithviraj Sukumaran' and was touted to be the most expensive Mohanlal movie.
