Ace cinematographer Jomon T John is all set to make his directorial debut with an epic project featuring
Nivin Pauly in the lead and scripted by
Sidharth Siva.
The film, titled Kairali, is based on Kerala’s first ship MV Kairali, which disappeared in 1979 just off the coast of the country with a crew of 49 members.
Jomon, who is currently busy shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal 4, has worked with Nivin Pauly in Thattathin Marayathu, Oru Vadakkan Selfie and Jacobinte Swargarajyam.
Meanwhile, Sidharth had directed the star in his latest film Sakhavu.
The upcoming big budget movie, which will go on floors by end of this year, will be jointly produced by Nivin’s Pauly Jr Pictures and Real Life Works. It will also have several international locations apart from Kerala, Goa and Delhi.
