Is restraining yourselves from your favourite food and cuisine the only way to achieve fitness and a sculpted physique? Ask ‘Mamangam’ actress Prachi Tehlan and the diva would readily say no. Prachi has been a sportsperson before entering the glitz of cinema, hence health and fitness have been the foremost important facet in her life. Even after stepping into the cinema, the diva chose to remain as a fitness enthusiast, but that doesn’t necessarily mean to starve yourself and deny the little joys that a delectable piece of brownie could bring!

First things first...
“As soon as I wake up, I have two glasses of hot water,” Prachi says, emphasizing that it has almost become a ritual in the morning for her!
Ginger and Lemon for that extra kick!
Feeling sleepy in the morning is not a big deal and Prachi Tehlan knows exactly how to break it and bring the morning freshness. “After drinking the hot water, I squeeze some lemon and ginger into another cup of hot water. It really helps me wake up and give that extra energy in the morning,” the diva adds. And she opts to omit adding sugar or honey to the drink.
Break the ‘fast (ing)’ with a healthy meal

Breakfast is always considered an important meal of the day. And Prachi Tehlan makes sure to have a healthy and filling breakfast. Cornflakes/Oats/Poha/Scrambled eggs with toast are her regular choices. The diva shares that she likes to have seasonal fruits prior to breakfast. “Breakfast is indeed my favourite meal of the day,” she affirms.
Pre-lunch snack
“I love to incorporate more fluids in my diet so most of the time, I stick to having a glass of buttermilk.
A simple lunch
Prachi Tehlan is insistent about eating healthy and so she adds a variety of vegetables to her diet. “For lunch, I have a chapati or some rice, along with lots of cooked vegetables. I love to cook it in my style, with some spice,” Prachi shares.
Evening snack
“I am fond of tea,” Prachi Tehlan confesses. The actress loves to wash off the rest of the meal with a cup of ginger tea. Having a cup of tea with her family in the evening makes her day complete. “Avocados are something I adore. So I have avocado with a poached egg as an evening snack,” she adds. Superfoods are also part of her diet. Chia seeds, flax seeds, etc are her go-to evening bites.
Protein-rich dinner
Prachi loves cooking her dinner. “Grilled or roasted chicken/ paneer is what I mostly prefer for dinner. I marinate the chicken with some ginger-garlic paste and curd and then stir fry it with a touch of olive oil and some herbs.”
Warm milk for a good night’s sleep
“Drinking a glass of warm milk before bed has become almost a habit since childhood,” says the actress, and also adds that it helps her sleep well.

The list of cheat meals is never-ending!
Who doesn’t love to dig into some scrumptious pastries or inviting pizzas with some exotic toppings? Prachi Tehlan shares that the list of cheat meals is long, “On cheat days I have pizzas and gulab jamuns that my mom makes.” Indian cuisines including, Chole bhature, Rajma chawal, pakodas are also on the list!
Compensating with workout
Keeping a track of everything and sticking to the routine is as important as enjoying delicious dishes and hence Prachi Tehlan tries to follow her diet from Monday to Saturday. And the extra calorie intake on Sunday is compensated by a proper workout!
