Sachin, a movie about small-town cricket enthusiasts and the rivalry between two teams, looks like an out-and-out comedy. The release of the film had faced several postponements but is now set to hit theatres on July 19.
The film, directed by
Santhosh Nair and with
Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead, showcases the rivalry between Jerry 11’s headed by
Aju Varghese and the Brothers team, headed by Ramesh Pisharady.
Reshma Rajan plays the female lead.
Scriptwriter S L Puram Jayasurya says it is a romance, a story of friendship and a sports story. “The film is a reminder that one should not forget to enjoy life,” he says.
