'Big Salute' movie review highlights : A tedious and forced narrative on army nationalism
The directorial debut of AKB Kumar, Big Salute is the story of an army veteran, Captain Chandrasekhar, played by Dinesh Panicker. The script of the movie is by Benny Estaac.
Big Salute is a conscious, yet tedious nationalist narrative. The background score, reminiscing of videogames from the 90s, might as well induce an ear-bleed. Neither the songs nor the background score are any solace.
1x1 polls
The disjoint narrative sequence is only aided by a basic cinematography and mellow and crass acting. The script, feebly attributed as 'creative contribution' has #metoo jokes and innuendos in bad taste. The story is hapazard and disjoint at best.
Captain Chandrasekhar and his wife, lead a simplistic life. He is lead by simplistic goals that are ruled by his love for the nation. But his plans are disrupted when he falls sick and has to be admitted to a hospital. Magnanimous and people loving, Captain gets back in track with his own life one step at a time, when a mysterious stranger shows up at the hospital.
What doom will the stranger bring forth? Why is the stranger discreetly looking for the Captain?
