TV actor
Kiran Raj, who has been occasionally dabbling with cinema as well is gearing up for his next, Bahaddur Gandu. The latest, we hear, is that
Yasha Shivakumar has been signed up as the film’s leading lady. “People associate me with glamour and my movies have probably further driven this image. But in Bahaddur Gandu, I play a village girl. My character, Jyothi, is a typical Gowdru mane hudgi.
So I’m excited to be togged in langa-davani and roam the fields in the halli,” she says.
The film, she adds, is set against a rustic backdrop with a Shiva temple that has a historic connect with her family. “But what I’m really stoked about is that my character grapples with the split personality syndrome. The director, Prasiddh, has given me a few references for my role,” shares Yasha.
The film is set to go on floors in the first week of March. “It’s a whole different ball game to be essaying such a role so early in one’s career, so I’m on cloud nine,” she signs off.
