A storm water drain dug up and left open bang in the middle of a road proved fatal for a bike borne theatre person and TV artiste, early on Sunday morning. Ashok Kumar, 54, fell into it and drowned in the drainage water in the pit in front of Kohinoor Ground, off Bull Temple Road, South Bangalore.
Ashok and his Yamaha were found in the ditch around 8am by a policeman.

By the time he was pulled out, he was dead. The drain on Hayavadana Rao Road is being rebuilt. The dugup portion, 8-ft deep, 8-ft wide, 20-ft long, extends from Kohinoor Ground to the median.
