The season of remaking south films in Bollywood continues and the latest to be remade is Tamil super hit Soodhu Kavvum. The remake rights of this film which had been bought by Kannada filmmaker
Rockline Venkatesh is scheduled to go on the floors soon with
Rohit Shetty at the helm. "Rohit loved Soodhu Kavvum and had been wanting to make it in Bollywood. When he got to know that the rights were with me, he suggested that we produce it jointly," says Rockline.
Rohit, say sources, was impressed with the rawness of the script and felt that the life portrayed by the lead characters in Soodhu Kavvum resounds with the lifestyle of the common man in Mumbai. The Chennai Express director will also visit Bangalore during
Diwali for an official press conference to confirm the same. Cast and title of the film are yet to be worked out.
