Basking in the success of his Tulu film Circus, Roopesh Shetty has signed a new project, Adhipatra, which will be directed by Chayan Shetty.
Roopesh, who is set to play the role of a cop says, “I don’t know if success in television can translate into films, but it will give us that fame and take us closer to people. It is up to us to make good use of it. I took a long time to finalize a new project because I wanted to make sure that both script and screenplay were spot on.

Roopesh, who is also a director, feels that there is a wide offshore base of audience for Tulu films which needs to be tapped into. “I visited as many as seven countries by having premiere shows and I watched the film with audiences. People, wherever they stay across the world, love to see films which are rooted to their culture because they resonate with it.”

The audience today is very aware of the kind of content they want to consume. The decision to sign a film must be done keeping this in mind, too
