People enjoy getting scared in the theatre and Trunk will do just that for them: Rishika Sharma
When debutante filmmaker Rishika Sharma set out to make her launch vehicle, she knew that by choosing a genre like horror she would be eliminating a section of the audience from watching her film. But with the film, Trunk, produced by VS Media Enterprises, set to hit theatres today, she is sure that it will find an audience as horror has a dedicated fan following.
1x1 polls
In a quick chat ahead of the release, Rishika tells us what makes it a must-watch this week.
  • Trunk is my tribute to horror films, as a die-hard fan of the genre. When the team of Trunk came across the real-life story that has become the basis of the film, a few horror films had released.
  • We saw that there was good patronage for the genre. People were enjoying getting scared and we were encouraged by that. Fans of horror movies should watch this film.
  • Sound is an integral part of horror. The background score and the sync sound used during filming are plus points, as are the songs. which don’t mar the flow of the story and actually take the narrative forward.
  • We believe that the horror element in Trunk will be new to Kannada cinema, as we have attempted to scare audiences without the use of visual effects, relying only on the images onscreen and the sound. We have also tried a new makeup style which elevates the fear factor.
  • Trunk introduces real ghost hunters to Kannada audiences and explores scientific paranormal investigations.
  • The film is technically sound, with great editing and cinematography.
  • Overall, Trunk is a decent film and audiences will enjoy their two hours in the theatre.
