However, the team seems to have faced a hurdle only three days into the release as the is]sue of piracy emerges. Nikhil Kumaraswamy took to social media a short while ago to share an important message with his fans wherein he spoke about the piracy angle and implored all of them to watch the film only in cinema halls.
"Our film 'Rider' has proven to be statewide hit but a few miscreants have resorted to piracy already. Please refrain from supporting piracy and watch the film in cinema halls. Kindly support Kannada cinema and encourage us..." wrote Nikhil in his tweet.

'Rider' wouldn't be the first instance of the piracy menace for the Kannada Film Industry as films like 'Pogaru', 'Hero', and 'Roberrt' were subjected to the same earlier this year. In the case of 'Roberrt', the makers had to delete close to 8000 online links to the pirated copies and also take help from anti-piracy agencies to curb the spread. Previously, the Sudeep starrer 'Pailwaan' too had to undergo a similar issue due to which it's box office run, ultimately, was hampered.
