The Muthappa Rai biopic continues to remain ill-fated as yet another attempt sees a bitter end. Conceived and directed by the "Deadly" director
Ravi Srivatsa, the three-part project titled '
MR
' was to explore the now deceased gangster in an extensive way with young actor
Dixith
bringing him to life. However, following a muhurta ceremony and preliminary shooting, the project hit a roadblock only to be shelved ultimately due to issues raised by certain groups regarding the film's content. The makers then decided on rebranding the film as 'DR' but apparently, that attempt too couldn't see the light of day.
So, in a spirit to prove himself, director Ravi Srivatsa has now announced a completely different project that still features Dheekshith in the lead. Titled '
Deadly 3
', the filmmaker took to social media not very long ago and announced the making of the film on the occasion of Dixith's birthday. "With both MR and DR both being matters of the past, 'D3' seems to be my life-saver. The 'Deadly' tag associated with me for the past 16 years has saved my name and fame and has now back into my life to support me again. I wish that your love and blessing shall remain by side," wrote Ravi Srivatsa in his long and emotional post earlier today. The filmmaker also took the opportunity of sharing the new 'Deadly 3' film's first look.
In the past, a few sincere attempts have been to bring Muthappa Rai's grand life onto the big screen with big names like
Ram Gopal Varma,
Vivek Oberoi, and even
Sudeep, at a later point, associated with them. However, owing to unknown complications and other concerns that arose over the years, the biopic still remains to be made.
