After Nagabhushan, the latest comedian who is making his debut as a solo hero in Sandalwood, is
Chikkanna. The actor is teaming up with director Chandra Mohan, with whom he had worked in movies like Bombay Mittai and Double Engine.
Speaking about the film, Chandra Mohan says, “The script has been penned keeping in mind Chikkanna’s comic prowess. We can’t think of Chikkanna acting in a film without comedy, so we have retained the comic element and mixed it with family values.
He plays the role of a villager, Narayana, who leads life on his own terms. The story takes place in a small village in Mandya, and then travels to places like Darjeeling and Munnar. We are planning to begin shooting from November, with the first schedule in Darjeeling. We are looking for a fresh face to play the role of the heroine. The film will also feature P Ravishankar, Rockline Sudhakar and Sadhu Kokila in prominent roles.”
Meanwhile, Chikkanna, who was last seen on the silver screen in Sri Bharatha Bahubali, says, “I decided to act in the movie not just to become a lead actor. After hearing the script, I felt that the story would fit me perfectly.”Arjun Janya will be composing the music for the project, which is backed by Umapathy Srinivas Gowda.
Incidentally, Chikkanna’s debut as hero had been announced in 2019 under the same banner, albeit as a film to be directed by his Sri Bharatha Bahubali maker and co-star, Manju Mandavya.
