Late legendary actor
Raaj Kumar and
Nana Patekar featured together in a film titled 'Tirangaa' helmed by
Mehul Kumar. However, the filmmaker had a tough time getting both of them to work together.
Talking about the same in an interview, director Mehul Kumar said that Nana had straight no to the film when he approached for the role. Nana told Mehul that he doesn't do "commercial films" and declined the offer.
However, the director pursued him and after reading the script, Nana gave his nod for the film. But before saying yes to the role, the actor kept a condition that if late actor Raaj Kumar (who was Nana's co-star in the movie) interferes, he will immediately leave the set. Mehul gave his word that the 'Bulundi' actor won't intervene in the film's process.
On the other hand, when Mehul told Raaj Kumar that Nana will be his co-star in the film, he asked the director why did he sign Patekar. Kumar added that he heard that Nana is quite rude and abusive on the set.
However, Mehul also added that there was no tension on the set during the shoot as Raaj Kumar and Nana Patekar never talked to each other when they were in front of each other.
At the end of the interview, Mehul revealed that after shooting for a song in the film, the duo got along with each other.
