The Shaukeens: Badmaash Anupam and Annu reunite after 24 years

Anupam Kher and Annu Kapoor played baddies in Mukul Anand’s Hum 24 years ago. And they’re back together as naughty seniors in.
It’s not as if they weren’t offered films together in the years gone by. However, destiny willed otherwise. Sometimes the respective roles they were offered didn’t work, other times, the films were inconsequential.
To cut to the chase, Anupam says, “If we had to get together after 24 years, it had to be for something really special.” And just like they had given Mukul a nod without too much of a fuss, once again Anupam and Annu hadn’t even read the script of The Shaukeens when they agreed to be a part of the film.

And what can only be termed as too much of a coincidence is that both the actors, who had shot most of their portions for Hum in Mauritius, happened to shoot in the same foreign location for their current venture. The two stayed put for 35 days reminiscing about their earlier time together. In fact, since both are great raconteurs, they kept the unit amused with their tales. They relived their days of 24 years back when they would pull each others’ legs all the time.
A unit hand says that the two actors took full advantage of their Mauritius stay and even made a pact to have dinner together as often as they could, which was practically during their entire stay.
