Taapsee Pannu, who is gearing up for her next ‘Gandhari’, has stated that nowadays everyone in Bollywood wants to make spy-thriller movies, which she had done years ago.
In a recent interview with News X, Taapsee spoke about Bollywood’s obsession with spy thrillers. When asked about returning to the action genre with ‘Gandhari’, after spy thrillers such as ‘Baby’ and ‘Naam Shabana’, Taapsee stated that she has done action spy thrillers when they weren’t even in fashion. She also spoke about how everybody wants to do a spy thriller now. The actress further added that she had done a spy thriller many years ago, and if she does it again, it will be ‘weird’. "Why are you repeating yourself?" she asked.
The actress further added that she has done something 'so remarkable' back then so she does not want to touch it and spoil it again. She said that if she really had to do an action thriller she was very clear that she would go to some other world.
Taapsee's 'Baby' co-starring Akshay Kumar was released in 2015, and it also marked her debut in Bollywood. The immense success of the film prompted the makers to give her character a spinoff in 2017, titled 'Naam Shabana'.
Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu's upcoming film 'Gandhari' revolves around the story of a mother's revenge for her daughter.
