Sophie Choudry, who once used to come to Delhi almost every other week, feels that the best time to be in the city is from September to March. When we caught up with the VJ-turned-actress, she told us, “When I was a teenager, my family had a base in Delhi and I used to spend some of my winter holidays here. I have many friends in Delhi,” she told us.

I love Delhi for its history, greenery, open spaces, and great roads which are meant for long drives.
The
chaat you get here is delicious. In fact, there is this chaat place on Shah Jahan Road that’s been there for decades, where I go all the time.” She reminisced, “On one of my first visits to Delhi, my friends took me for a bike ride in the rains and we went golfing after that, and then stopped for hot chocolate fudge. Those are things you just can’t forget, because coming from London, where the rain just depresses you, this was a way to celebrate rain. The concept of spontaneous long drives, music, having
chai and
parathas on a highway are moments I’ll always cherish.” Unlike Delhi, Sophie finds Mumbai, her workplace, very congested, and she even said that there is a casualness in the dressing sense among Mumbaikars. She added, “Delhi has a ‘
haanji ho jayega’ attitude, but the work never gets done.”
