The Punjabi star was reportedly set to take his seat at a table with the diva, but little did fans know that the two would be hitching a ride together and also walking the Met carpet together as part of designer Prabal Gurung's squad.
The duo, both attending fashion’s biggest night in standout ensembles, were seen sharing laughs and posing for the camera alongside singer Nicole Scherzinger and actor Tessa Thompson. Diljit was the only hunk among the ladies, as he rocked a Maharaja-inspired look.
In a video, Shakira and Diljit shared a rather heartwarming interaction that included a special shout-out to their Indian fans. The cute BTS moment took place during the group's limo ride to the Met. “Diljit, say hi to India. Hi India..." Shakira beamed as Diljit shared a laugh in the background. The clip quickly went viral on social media, with fans celebrating the unexpected crossover.

The Met Gala 2025 theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” provided a unique backdrop for multicultural expression, and Dosanjh stood out with his Maharaja-inspired white ensemble designed by Prabal Gurung. Representing his Sikh roots, Diljit wore the ivory and gold sherwani, along with a tehmat, bejewelled turban adorned with a white 'kalgi' and a lion-headed, jewel-studded kirpan. He also flaunted a cape with the silhouetted map of Punjab and letters in the Punjabi script Gurmukhi embroidered on it.
