Ever since she committed suicide, Viveka Babaji’s former boyfriends have been hounded by the media and the police for information on the supermodel. Bollywood director
Rohit Jugraj, her first love in Mumbai who has now gone into hiding outside the city, complained bitterly of his life being turned into virtual hell! On Tuesday, he was pursued by reporters and photographers who have been camping in JVPD ever since Viveka’s mother came to Mumbai and took up residence at the late actor Sujit Kumar’s bungalow.
Since this is located right next door to the Bachchan home Jalsa, the media intrusion has reportedly annoyed and inconvenienced the Big B among other Bollywood stars staying in the area.
The Kumars and Babajis go back a long way. When she first came to Mumbai, Viveka stayed at their bungalow, and she remained friends with Sujit Kumar’s son Jatin till her end. Her mother, too, chose to stay here because the Cooper Hospital and Juhu crematorium were close by. However, she moved to her daughter Neeta’s home after Viveka’s funeral. Unaware of this relocation, the media continued to stake out Jatin Kumar’s residence. And when Jugraj dropped by on Tuesday, he was mobbed by at least 30 journos. “I ran for my life,” reports the harassed former boyfriend of the supermodel. “They chased me all the way home shouting questions about Viveka.” He doesn’t want to talk about his relationship with her. “She is a beautiful part of my past,” is all the director who continues to maintain relations with the Babaji family, said. His final act for Viveka was to find good homes for her five pet cats.
