Sharing her experience, Shannon told a Hindi publication that she was bullied a lot in her childhood. The young singer recalled that she was made to feel like a lesser being when she went for auditions because she was different from most of the people around.

Shannon also mentioned that she was too young to handle it all well so she would come back home crying. Her confidence was often shattered due to these incidents. According to her, she had to prove herself, not just as an artist, but also as a human being.

Elaborating further, Shannon added that she has now learned to deal with it. The young singer also added that she would like to make a song about it someday and help promote Indian culture in all corners of the world.
Shannon made her debut with the pop single titled, ‘A Long Time’. The song was written and produced by singer Justin Bieber’s frequent collaborator, Jason Poo Bea Boyd. Not only this, she also collaborated with music producer Kyle Townsend for an anti-bullying song titled ‘Give Me Your Hand’. The song was co-written by Shannon's younger sister Annabel. Shannon also collaborated with Sonu Nigam for a song titled ‘OMT’ in 2018.
