Tridev Pandey, Kartik’s personal trainer, recently opened up about a moment that left him both surprised and deeply impressed. Speaking about the actor’s resolute focus during the film’s prep phase, Pandey recalled how even on his birthday, when surrounded by friends, Kartik refused to break his strict diet.
“Kartik’s birthday was in November and a lot of his Bollywood friends who were present for the celebration knew that he was on a diet, so they got him healthy cakes. He cut the cake and didn’t eat even a single piece. I had to go up to him and tell him to eat it but still, he didn’t. That was the level of the dedication and commitment he had for the film. In my 17 years of experience, I have not seen someone like him,” Pandey revealed.
The incident stands as a testament to the actor’s remarkable self-control and sense of responsibility towards his role. Chandu Champion, directed by Kabir Khan, required Kartik to undergo a significant physical transformation — adopting an athlete’s lifestyle both in body and mind. From rigorous training sessions to precise meal plans, the actor left no stone unturned in embracing the character. Though the film was a moderate success at the box office- the film introduced Kartik to a new way of living life and since then he has continued working out with Tridev first for Bhool Bhuliayaa 3 and now for his romantic film opposite Sreeleela and directed by Anurag Basu.
