The actress praised Akhtar, describing him as "kind and gracious," and revealed that he will write songs for her upcoming directorial project. They were seen smiling together in a recent photo.
Akhtar spoke to Aaj Tak about the case, revealing that it has been settled. He explained that Kangana has retracted her statements and allegations, promising not to repeat them. She apologized for any inconvenience caused and withdrew her case. Akhtar noted that he never sought financial compensation, instead wanting an apology, which he received.
Javed and Kangana have resolved their legal conflict amicably. The dispute began in 2020 when Akhtar filed a complaint alleging that Ranaut made defamatory statements against him in a television interview, which he claimed damaged his reputation. Both parties have now settled their differences.

Instagram, Kangana shared a happy photo with Javed Akhtar that seems to have been clicked after resolving their legal matter. The actress expressed gratitude for Akhtar's kindness and graciousness during the process. She wrote, “Today Javed ji and I have resolved our legal matter (defamation case) through mediation. In the mediation, Javed ji has been very kind and gracious; he also agreed to write songs for my next directorial."
