Dolly Ahluwalia dresses up Shahid Kapoor in 'Haider'

Although acting got Dolly Ahluwalia national recognition (she played Ayushmann Khurrana’s high-spirited mummy ji in Vicky Donor), her primary link to films is costumes. And she plans to keep it that way.
Having worked on a dozen movies, including Midnight’s Children and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, her projects usually involve lots of research into history. However, her next project has taken her to an unusual era — Kashmir of the 1990s.
Dolly, who is working on the Shahid Kapoor-starrer Haider, has studied Kashmir extensively to get an authentic wardrobe in place for the cast. “While we did source a lot of stuff locally, we are also recreating some costumes ourselves,” she said.
