Director Krish has shared his thoughts on his highly publicised feud with Kangana Ranaut on the film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’.
Krishna Jagarlamudi, popularly known as Krish, sat down for a candid discussion with Samantha Akkineni on her talk show. The actress and host praised the director for keeping his calm in the face of the full-blown controversy that had him bowing out of the project and Kangana taking over the reins and credit as the director of the film.
When asked to share his thoughts about the same, Krish said, "I really want to speak one last time. After Kangana and her team watched the film, I got a call after a few days...”
He went on to add, “As a storyteller, I feared I’ll remain unknown to the world. As artists, we can only show it to the world when we get the right opportunities.”
The director had accused the actress of allegedly "hijacking" the period drama. Contrary to Ranaut’s claims of shooting 70% of the film, the director said that the actress only shot a few scenes and re-shot some of the scenes he filmed.
Apart from the director, writer Apurva Asrani, actors Sonu Sood and Mishti Chakravarty had also shared their take on the whole controversy. Reacting to their claims, Kangana slammed all four men and said that it is wrong of Krish to attack her. She even challenged him to prove his claims.
Hitting out at the actors who cried foul about their roles being cut, Kangana said in a statement that the place she achieved in the industry, whether as an actor or 3 times National award winner or filmmaker, was achieved by herself and that she didn’t attain it from her father.
On the work front, the actress is now gearing up for her film ‘Tejas’ and is also set to take over the director’s chair for ‘Aparajita Ayodhya’.
