Recalling his time on the sets, Gurdas Maan shared, “The film ‘Veer-Zaara’ and the songs ‘Aisa Des Hai Mera’ and ‘Lohri’ are very close to my heart. One of my fondest memories is how it all came together. I was shooting for Des Hoyaa Pardes in Chandigarh, and Yash Ji and I were staying in the same hotel.”
He further elaborated, “I had already recorded the song ‘Lohri’ and parts of ‘Aisa Des Hai Mera’ (the Mukhda and Jugni portions) when Yash Ji suggested that since I was already there and had lent my voice to the song, why not appear in it as well? That’s when I paused my own film's shoot and joined the set of Veer-Zaara. It was a beautiful experience to be part of a song that resonates so deeply with the soul of our country.”
‘Veer-Zaara’, which originally released nearly 20 years ago, is set to re-release in theatres on September 13, reigniting the timeless love story and its beloved music.
On the professional front, Gurdas Maan recently launched the first track, "Main Hi Jhoothi," from his new album Sound of Soil, with eight more songs to follow. He is also gearing up for his upcoming USA tour.
