Sahil Mehta, who made his debut with “Love Express”, was recently in the city. Since he left Delhi after finishing his studies at DPS RK Puram, does he miss Delhi when he’s in Mumbai? “Of course I do! You know what they say – you can take the Delhiite out of Delhi, but you can’t take Delhi out of the Delhiite. I used to hang out so much in GK- II, and I love Nirula’s hot chocolate fudge,” he says nostalgically.
Sahil was coming to Delhi after a year, and said he was surprised to see that so much has changed because of the Commonwealth Games. “It makes me sad that Delhi’s changed so much in the last one year. I’ve visited earlier too, but this time it really hit me – my city’s changing,” he says.
He was here to promote his film, most of which is set in a train – has he ever met a pretty girl during a train journey? “Oh, I wish,” he says, “But I’ve been part of a memorable train journey, where we were going from Delhi to Bilaspur, and we were such noisy passengers. It was also a baaraat, so there was chachi, mami, taayi... That was some journey!”
He’s been a huge Aamir Khan fan ever since he saw “Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander” when he was five, but he says he has interests beyond films as well. “I am a cricket fanatic. I went to watch the World Cup final in Wankhede stadium, I wanted to go to Mohali for the semi-final, but couldn’t. And I watched all the IPL matches that were in Mumbai. I paid through my nose, but I went,” he says.
