We had told you about Haryana politician Chaudhary Devi Lal’s grandson, Anirudh Chautala, shooting parts of his debut film, Democracy Private Limited, in Gurgaon. Sequences from the film were to be shot in Gurgaon last month, but the schedule got cancelled. Now, the film has been renamed Lollipop Since 1947, and the crew has been shooting in the city since October 6.
The film stars popular TV actress
Kavita Kaushik, and
Deepak Dobriyal.
A few days ago, we caught them shooting in Sector 14 and in Galleria market. When we asked the director about the name change, Anirudh told us, “We discovered that a film was being made by the name of Jai Ho Democracy, by filmmaker Ranjeet Kapoor, so, we decided to change our title."
About shooting here, he said, “We have chosen various locations in Gurgaon and Delhi, like Galleria, Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk.” We asked them if they had any trouble shooting in Galleria, when recently, a Euphoria shoot planned at the market was cancelled. Anirudh said, “
Haan suna tha, unko free
mein chahiye tha, isliye mana kar diya gaya. Lekin hamne paise diye hain, and we have also got the permission to shoot.”
The film’s producer Manju Amit Bansal informed us, “We will shoot a song sung by Mika Singh on the streets of Gurgaon. We plan to shoot the song sequence in Sector 15. There is also a typical marriage party
wala song, which we’ll shoot at a farmhouse.”
