The actor whose much awaited Death on the Nile trailer dropped recently, has been much appreciated for pushing boundaries for Indian actors in international cinema.
“I make sure to not slip into the cliche parts where an Indian just plays a maharaja. Not to dumb-grade those parts, but then it becomes a type. I don't want to fall into a zone," the actor had told a news agency in an interview.
Directed by
Kenneth Branagh, the film based on Agatha Christie’s novel by the same name is a follow up on the 2017 movie Murder on the Orient Express. The film’s cast includes
Gal Gadot,
Armie Hammer, Letitia Wright, Emma Mackey, Jennifer Saunders, Russell Brand , Dawn French, Rose Leslie, Tom Bateman, Annette Bening , Sophie Okonedo along with Branagh himself. Ali stars as one of the leads in the ensemble film.
Ali was supported by actors from the Indian film industry.
