Actress
Bhoomika Meena is basking in the glory of her recently released film Chidiya Udd, alongside powerhouses Jackie Shroff and Sikander Kher. Known for her nuanced performances, Bhoomika is slowly and gradually making her presence felt with notable roles in Chuhedaani (2022), Slum Golf (2023) and Dukaan (2024).
Sharing more about her recent project, she says, “Chidiya Udd came at a perfect time in my journey. It’s an intense role that allowed me to explore action, drama, and human emotions deeply. Sharing screen space with legends like
Jackie Shroff and Sikander Kher was surreal—they were incredibly supportive and inspiring.” Meena has done diverse and is particular about the projects she choose. “I believe roles choose you when you're ready. My focus is on evolving as an actor so I can embody complex characters with honesty. Meena, Chandan, and Sehar found me, and playing them have been transformative.”
Coming from a family of doctors, Bhoomika chose a different career. She shares, “It took deep self-reflection to realize acting was my ikigai. Growing up, I believed medicine was the surest path to success, but over time, I redefined success for myself. Walking away from a secure career was scary, but choosing my passion was the best decision I ever made. My parents, despite being doctors, had deep artistic sensibilities—music, dance, and storytelling were part of our home. My education at MGD and my time at my nana-nani’s village gave me both exposure and grounding, shaping me into a passionate and driven artist.” Jaipur’s cultural scene too paved way for her acting journey. And she quickly adds, “Absolutely! Training at Jaipur Kathak Kendra built my discipline, and MGD’s artistic environment pushed me to excel in debates, dramatics, and dance. School ballets were my first taste of performance and production, unknowingly preparing me for the industry.”
A Jaipur girl by heart, Bhoomika misses her hometown in Mumbai. But whenever she comes home, she does not forget to visit her favourite places. “I love strolling through Bapu Bazaar and Johri Bazaar. Must-try foods? Chaat wali Gali’s golgappe, falooda, famous kachori, ghewar, motichoor laddoo—and if you're lucky, my mom’s dal baati!”
