I don't want to make further loss by making a Gujarati movie: Dinesh Lamba
Actor-director Dinesh Lamba, is now looking forward to seeking creative satisfaction from making Hindi films. The actor turned director who made his Gujarati directorial debut with the film Tuj Mari Jindagi, which had Dinesh himself in the lead, feels it is wiser for anyone not to think about making Gujarati movies much.
“One can’t afford to make a movie if at the end of the day, you get only 12 viewers watching your movie at theatres,” says Dinesh who adds, “That’s exactly the number of audiences I got for my movie Tuj Mari Jindagi when it released.

Dinesh who is now co-producing a movie called Lions of Gujarat (tentatively titled), is also seen playing an important role in the film. “If you make a Hindi film, there is a chance of getting some audience for your film,” says Dinesh. “What’s the point of making a Gujarati film if Gujaratis are not watching it?” asks a disheartened Dinesh who feels Dhollywood has little room for risk taking, especially today.
