Banking upon only a Gujarati release of a film can backfire, according to actor-director
Dinesh Lamba, who has directed one Gujarati movie Tuj Mari Jindagi three years ago. After incurring losses after the movie release, Dinesh feels, for his next movie venture, Lions of Gujarat a bilingual movie release will be a safer bet.
Says Dinesh Lamba, “The crucial aspect is that how many screens does a films gets.
And for a Gujarati film, it becomes very difficult to manage to get satisfactory number of screens.”
Lions of Gujarat, thus the director says will be released mostly in Hindi across various theatres. “That’s the action plan as of now. I have made the film both in Gujarati and Hindi. However Gujarati release I am limiting for only special screenings and occasions. Mostly it will be the Hindi release that will hit the theatres,” says Dinesh.
