A festival for promoting Russian culture

Festival of Russian Language and Literature
The capital city hosted the 10th edition of the Festival of Russian Language and Literature. The fete organised by the Russian Federation consulate and Russian culture centre attracted culture and art enthusiasts. The interactive festival saw discussions on translated Russian novels and events as part of the promotion of Russian language, literature and culture in the country.
Renowned Marathi writer and translator Dr Megha Pansare was felicitated with this year’s international 'Sergei Yesenin' award for her contribution to popularising Russian literature in India.

The closing ceremony of the fete held at SP Grand Days, Thampanoor, saw prominent personalities from all walks of life, including Dinesh Panicker, Devan, Cherian Philip, Rakhi Ravikumar, G Venugopal and many more. The festival was also attended by cultural personalities and fans of Russian literature. The evening concluded with a melodious piano concert by Russian artiste Dana Bekpossynova.
