The Times Hyderabad Festival continued at Rock Heights with a power-packed performance by singer Karthik accompanied by Bennet and band. The evening started early with the crowd flocking into the venue and eagerly waiting for the singer. He came and doubled the energy among the audience, starting with his biggest hit “Oka Maaru” from “Ghajini” and continued with songs like “Sariyo Sariyo” from “Pokiri”, “Behka” from “Ghajini” and more.
He won hearts for the melodious rendition of his latest hits “Chilipiga” (“Orange”) “Nijanga Nenena” (“Kotta Bangaru Lokam”) and two other songs from “Happy Days”.
Karthik next came up with a jugalbandhi, fusing together songs like “Dhan Te Dhan” “We Will Rock You” and “Petarap”. And as he hummed a few old compositions of Kishore Kumar and R D Burman, there was a loud shout from the crowd, saying ‘Karthik, you stole our hearts’. As the evening came to a close, Kathik soared high on energy getting people to groove to the music. His final words, “This is not to flatter you, but what an audience you have been!” held the audience in appreciation of this melodious and electrifying performer.
