Down memory lane: Actor and anchor Manish Paul, a Delhi dude, was back home and on the stage on which he said he lost his stage fright – his school’s stage! This was at the Apeejay Stya Educational Society’s alumni meet in Delhi, where around 200 alumni from eight of their institutions – including Sheikh Sarai, Saket, Pitampura, Noida, Dwarka, Faridabad, AID and ASM – turned up to relive their school memories.
Manish, an alumnus of the Sheikh Sarai branch, was honoured at the meet. Said Manish. “I was always into dramatics and co-curricular activities in school, and it was there that I got rid of my stage fright. School mein jab bhi cassette ruk jaati thi kisi programme ke beech mein, mujhe stage par dhakka maar ke bhej diya jaata tha kehke, ‘Go and entertain the audience’!”
Proud moment: Sushma Paul Berlia said, “It gives me immense pride and joy to welcome the students at this alumni meet. Usually, we have individual schools organising their alumni meets. But this is the first time that we’ve invited a few select students from different schools to join us for the alumni meet. We will try and make this a regular feature.” Achin and Sarthak Narula, who won `7 crore on KBC this year, were also present at the meet and told us that they would be visiting their alma mater, the Pitampura branch, on Wednesday.
