Gather here, movie lovers! The production house has just announced the sequel ‘The Bone Temple’ of the trilogy in the ‘28 Years Later’ will be released on January 16, 2026, half a year later than the release of the latter. The third film ’28 Years later’ – a much awaited continuation of the horror zombie movie ’28 Days Later’ will be released on June 20, 2025.

‘28 Years Later’ and ‘The Bone Temple’ are announced as a part of a trilogy, although the third film has not been announced yet. Directed by Danny Boyle, who’s also known for directing ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ’28 Days Later’, ’28 Years Later’ is the film where it’s been almost three decades after the Rage Virus escaped the medical research laboratory. Survivors are now in quarantine. According to the Synopsis, a group lives on a secluded island linked to the mainland by a secure causeway. After one group leaves for the mainland, they are revealed with the secrets and horrors of the outside world.

‘The Bone Temple’ is directed by Nia DaCosta, who is known for ‘The Marvels’ and ‘The Candyman’. Both films were shot consecutively, and headlined by actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes.

’28 Years Later’ trilogy is a continuation of the original films, ’28 Days Later’ (2002) and ’28 Weeks Later’ (2007). The former film, being the first one introduced to the character Jim (Cillian Murphy) who wakes up in the coma and finds himself in post-apocalyptic London after the wide spread of virus. The latter film had Murphy’s absence, yet they introduced the other group that are forced to evacuate their homes after Britain is compromised to the virus.
