Veteran actor Michael Keaton is being eyed for the villain's role in the new Spider-Man reboot starring Tom Holland.

Veteran actor Michael Keaton is being eyed for the villain's role in the new Spider-Man reboot starring Tom Holland.
The 64-year-old actor is in early talks to join the Sony film and details about his role are kept under wraps, reported Variety.

It is not clear whether the character also known as Adrian Toomes would be the main villain or just one of the bad guys that Spider-Man defeats in a scene.
If the deal goes through, Keaton will join Marisa Tomei who plays Peter Parker's Aunt May, and Zendaya Coleman who plays a non-comicbook character named "Michelle" in 'Spider-Man Homecoming'.

Jon Watts is directing the film from a script by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
Production will begin this summer to meet the July 7, 2017 premiere.
For Keaton, this marks a transition from DC Comics to Marvel. He famously portrayed Batman in Tim Burton's 'Batman' in 1989.
