Singer took to
Instagram to share the news. "Excited to welcome kodismitmcphee to the cast of XmenApocalypse as young Nightcrawler," he wrote. Smit-McPhee has joined previously-announced cast members which include Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner and Tye Sheridan. The three stars are set to play young version of Storm, Jean Grey and Cyclops respectively. The follow-up to 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' will also feature appearances from familiar faces such as
James McAvoy,
Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence. The movie is set to start production in April with May 27, 2016 release date.
