Kelly Ripa talks about her first splurge - The unconventional gift for her mother

Kelly Ripa, renowned actress and the beloved host of ‘Live With Kelly and Mark,’ recently divulged a peculiar purchase she made after receiving her first paycheck. In a candid conversation on her podcast, ‘Let’s Talk Off Camera,’ Ripa revealed her unconventional gift for her 82-year-old mother – a white upright piano.
Despite the allure of typical lavish gifts like a house or jewelry, Ripa opted for something unique, choosing to surprise her mother with a musical instrument.However, Ripa confessed that neither her mother nor herself are proficient pianists, despite years of attempting to master the skill.

Reflecting on her childhood, Ripa shared that her grandmother owned a piano, which her mother didn't play. Sadly, after her grandmother's passing, the piano was removed during a home redecoration, leaving a void in the family home. Determined to fill this gap, Ripa acquired a white lacquer upright piano, a rarity in itself, considering the instrument's colour and brand.
When not posting photos from her life on the sets or her fun time with her family, the star has also treated fans to some personal photos of her mom from her photo albums.

Discussing her recent accolade as one of Time magazine's most influential people for 2024, Ripa attended the Time 100 gala with her husband, Mark Consuelos.
