There are going to be fireworks at the Indian box office this Diwali, with Marvel's 'Eternals' announcing their arriving in theatres on November 5, 2021.
Just days after the success of the Simu Liu-lead 'Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings', Marvel announced that the
Chloe Zhao directorial will have a multi-lingual release in India.
"Lighting up the Big screens this Diwali! Eternals will arrive on November 5 in Cinemas! In English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam," read an official statement on the Marvel Studios Twitter handle.
With this, the superhero film is now set for a clash with
Shahid Kapoor's 'Jersey', that is a Hindi remake of the Telugu hit starring Nani in the lead. The sports drama will follow a talented but failed cricketer who decides to return to cricket in his mid-30s. It will see his trials and triumph as he chases his desire to represent the Indian cricket team, and fulfil his son's wish to get back a jersey as a gift.
Meanwhile, 'Eternals' is one of the highly anticipated superhero films featuring a diverse cast of
Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris,
Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Lia McHugh as Sprite and Barry Keoghan as Druig.
The movie is about a group of immortal beings (Eternals) who have been living on earth for the past 7,000 years, shaping society as we know it. Created by cosmic beings called Celestials, the film will chronicle the journey of the Eternals who were sent to Earth to safeguard it from humanity's greatest threat - the Deviants.
The trailer that dropped last month gave fans a look at the visual spectacle set to unfold this winter and also explain the events of 'Avengers: Endgame' that lead to a new "emergence" of the Deviants.
The film is the third Marvel film to release post the pandemic. It follows Scarlett Johansson's 'Black Widow' and Simu Liu's 'Shang-Chi'.
