It was mini Harry Potter reunion much to the delight of fans.
Afshan Azad, who played Padma Patil in the hugely popular film franchise, had a glitzy reception, which was attended by her former co-stars
Bonnie Wright and Katie Leung. Afshan tied the knot with Nabil Kazi last weekend and
Katie Leung, who played Cho Chang, and Bonnie Wright, who played Ginny Weasley dropped by to wish the newlyweds good luck and be a part of the festivities.
The pretty bride wore a beautiful long-sleeved white gown with embellished accents and even posted pictures on her social media account. Afshan accompanied the picture with a caption that read, “Yesterday was the most epic night. My handsome husband and beautiful in-laws went above and beyond and blew me away with the most magical Walima party.”
The couple had a traditional wedding ceremony a day before the reception and Afshan shared a picture with a caption that read, “Incredibly blessed. After a year of planning on my own, the tears and tantrums, today was an absolute dream. Married and moved out of Manchester to start my new life. Thank you to my incredible family and friends, without you I’m nothing. Best wedding ever, even if I do say so myself! Keep us in your prayers.”
Although Padma Patil was not one of the main characters in the Harry Potter films, she became hugely popular after the franchise got over for her glamourous makeover. The highlight of her Harry Potter career was when she and her on-screen sister Parvati Patil went as Harry and Ron Weasley’s dates to the Yule Ball in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’.
