Music Director Dabbu and Director
Saptaswa Basu have worked together earlier in movies like ‘Pratidwandi’ and ‘Network’, but Saptaswa’s next film ‘Jatugriho’ threw a different challenge all together because of the limitations we have been pushed into.
To design the music of this upcoming thriller and to make it functional on the basis of online communication was a different ball game altogether.
‘Jatugriho’ had opened up this opportunity. Saptaswa wanted to conceptualize a love song, not for some mere entertainment but to bring out the emotion and relationship aspect of the protagonists in the story through a journey of melodies.
“The entire communication and initial storyboarding were done over calls. Singers Raj Barman and Anwesshaa Dutta worked with the team through video calls. Simultaneously directing two artists, expressing the emotions, and mastering the nooks of the song faced challenges due to this online communication, but nevertheless, turned out happily to be as expected. 'Tui Taakile Jei' had the male vocals rendered by Raj Barman and the female voice by Anwesshaa, while lyrics by Rajiv Dutta, and composition by Dabbu,” shared the director.
The pandemic has pushed us to corners of discomfort, but as they say, art can never bow down to boundaries. “The artists get more motivated and work harder to make all odds, and finish the project with their true passion. The rest of the songs of ‘Jatugriho’ are still in the making, but this being the first release, we can hope for a promising outcome,” adds Saptaswa.
