Ranjan Ghosh’s upcoming film ‘Rong Beronger Korhi’ deals with the issue of demonetization with four different, yet connected stories based on socio-political struggle.

Rituparna Sengupta, Soham Chakraborty, Arunima Ghosh, Ritwick Chakraborty, Chiranjeet Chakraborty, Kharaj Mukherjee, Arjun Chakraborty and Ritobroto Mukherjee all will be seen in pivotal roles. There is another twist that the narrative offers; if latest reports are anything to go by, then Rituparna and Arunima will play double roles in two different subplots of ‘Rong Beronger Kori’.
Director Ghosh initially had to confront vicious protests from the Hindu Jagran Mancha in Kolkata as he named two characters Ram and Sita in this film.

However, he was later relieved as the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) certified the film without any cuts.
While speaking about the film, Ranjan revealed that the film will narrate the story of marginalised people in our society. “The story revolves around the elements of love, separation, profit and loss. The world in this story is inhabited by a tribal couple Ram (Soham Chakraborty) and Sita (Arunima Ghosh) and a government clerk Khagen (Kharaj Mukherjee). An old brick kiln owner (Chiranjeet Chakraborty), is young wife (also played by Arunima) and her friend Mithun (Arjun Chakraborty); an anonymous prostitute (Rituparna Sengupta), her pimp (Dhee Majumder) and her client (Ritwick Chakraborty); and finally a young Dhaki Joga (Ritobroto) and his ailing mother (also played by Rituparna Sengupta),” the director added.
